Education in Maryland is in disarray. We are spending a large amount of resources on an institution that is failing our communities and students by not producing citizens that are ready to succeed. We don’t have a funding problem, we have an accountability problem. We need accountability and transparency in how we spend on education. The answer is auditing how the resources are being spent. We need to make sure the students are receiving the best education available by comparing the failing districts to those that are succeeding. I believe that most educational decisions should be left in the hands of the counties.
